You’re Not Waiting on the Blessing—You’re Learning to Walk in It

When You Don’t Realize What’s Already Been Given

Hebrews 11:6 (NLT) tells us, “It is impossible to please God without faith… He rewards those who sincerely seek him.” That word rewarder matters—but not the way we’ve sometimes looked at it. Because if we’re not careful, we’ll start relating to God like He’s handing out prizes for good behavior, instead of understanding that what He gives flows from relationship. Faith isn’t just believing God exists. It’s trusting who He is—good, faithful, and already moving toward us.

And this is where a lot of us get it twisted. We live like we’re trying to get God to release something…when in Christ, so much has already been given.

Two Ways to Live—Only One Leads to Life

Romans 6:23 (NLT) says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” That verse isn’t just talking about what happens after we die—it’s revealing how life actually works right now. Sin doesn’t just end in death one day—it produces separation, confusion, and strain in the present. It pulls us into a way of living where we rely on ourselves, chase what we think we need, and end up carrying weight we were never designed to hold.

And if we’re honest, that kind of living feels exhausting. You can be doing all the right things on the outside and still feel off on the inside—still striving, still unsettled, and still trying to make things come together. That’s what life looks like when it’s flowing from effort instead of alignment with Heavenly Father’s Will and plan.

But the dangerous part is this: the wrong way doesn’t always look wrong.

2 Corinthians 4:4 (NLT) tells us, “Satan… has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe.” That means a person can be active, productive, even successful by the world’s standards—moving, building, choosing—and still not see clearly. They can feel confident about the direction they’re going, and still be completely off course spiritually.

That’s how deception works. It doesn’t announce itself. It doesn’t always come wrapped in something that looks evil or destructive. Most of the time, it feels normal. It feels right. It even feels justified. But all the while, it’s quietly pulling you further away from God’s truth, keeping you disconnected from the light of Christ.

And the danger is this—when your vision is off, everything else follows. Your decisions, your desires, your sense of purpose… all of it gets shaped by what you think you see. That’s why spiritual sight matters. Because until the light of the gospel breaks through, a person can live an entire life thinking they’re on the right path, never realizing they’ve been walking in the wrong direction the whole time.

God Never Designed You to Earn What He Already Gave

From the beginning, God showed us His heart. Genesis 1:28 (NLT) says, “Then God blessed them and said, ‘Be fruitful and multiply… Fill the earth and govern it.’” Notice the order—He blessed them first. Before effort. Before performance. Before they proved anything. God didn’t start humanity with pressure. He started them with provision.

That means what we often call “the blessing” isn’t something we chase—it’s something we were always meant to live from. But when the soul is out of alignment, we start striving for what was already given, instead of walking in it.

Jesus Didn’t Just Forgive You—He Restored You

Romans 5:15 (NLT) tells us, “Even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness… through Jesus Christ.” What Adam broke, Jesus didn’t just cover—He restored. Completely. And when Jesus went to the cross, something shifted that we can’t afford to overlook. Matthew 27:50–51 (NLT) tells us that when He gave up His spirit, “the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom.” That veil represented separation—a barrier between God and man. And God tore it Himself. Through Jesus Christ, access was fully restored. The distance was removed. The door is no longer closed—we’ve been brought back into relationship with the Father through Christ.

Because of Jesus, this life with God isn’t something we earn—it’s something we live, and we do so by staying connected to Him. John 15:7 (NLT) tells us, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted.” That’s not a formula to figure out—it’s a relationship to stay in. When you stay connected to Jesus and allow His Word to lead you, your life starts to reflect what He already finished. You’re not trying to get God to bless you—you’re learning to live from what Jesus already secured. And when that clicks, faith stops feeling like pressure and becomes agreement, gratitude becomes your way of living, and obedience becomes alignment with the Father. Because the greatest reward was never just what God gives—it’s that through Jesus Christ, He gave you Himself. ■
