Numbers 6:24–26 (NLT)
“May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.”

Sometimes we think we’ve been overlooked by God. Like maybe He forgot to add us to the list of women who get their prayers answered in this season. Especially when it comes to love. But, wonderful woman of God, let me remind you: His smile is still on you.

Even if the timeline doesn’t make sense. Even if you’ve walked away from situations that seemed promising but didn’t have peace. Even if you’ve found yourself going back to someone you once blocked—God still sees you. And He hasn’t stopped being gracious toward you.

A close friend told me recently that she reconnected with someone she had already walked away from. She needed a plus-one for an event and didn’t want to go alone. So she reached out. We’ve all had those moments—when loneliness feels heavier than conviction, and silence from heaven makes us want to take matters into our own hands.

But hear this: reaching out for companionship doesn’t mean you’re weak—it means you’re human. The key is learning how to recognize when we’re starting to settle for something that doesn’t carry God’s peace and plan for our lives.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT) gives us the blueprint:
“6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

It takes courage to pray and wait instead of rushing ahead. It takes faith to walk away when you’re not sure what’s coming next. But trust—God’s peace really does guard your heart. It keeps you from going back to what you already outgrew. It keeps you clear-headed when emotions try to take over. And most of all, it keeps you hopeful when the wait feels long.

This isn’t about shame. It’s about surrender. God is not punishing you with singleness. He’s preparing you for something better than what you’ve tried to build on your own. His smile isn’t earned by perfection—it rests on you because you’re His daughter. Even when you doubt. Even when you take a detour. Even when you don’t feel like you’re doing this whole thing right.

Let that truth bring you peace. You don’t have to chase anything that’s meant to be kept by God. You don’t have to figure it all out. You just have to stay close. Stay open. Stay prayerful. And when the time is right, He’ll bless you with more than just a relationship. He’ll bless you with peace about it. That’s how you’ll know it came from Him.

God’s smile is still on you. Rest in that continually.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
I come to You with a humble heart, knowing that You see every part of me—my hopes, my frustrations, and the quiet longings I don’t always share. Forgive me for the times I’ve taken matters into my own hands instead of waiting on Your timing. Teach me how to rest in Your love and to recognize the peace that only You can give. I want to be led by Your Spirit, not by fear or pressure. Help me to remember that Your smile is still on me, even when I stumble.

I want to be pleasing in Your sight, Lord. Please help to cleanse my heart, renew my mind, and align my desires with Your Will.
