The Praise of a Woman Who Trusts God

Philippians 4:4 (NLT) tells us, “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!

If you’ve been walking with Christ for a while, you know this verse isn’t written to people on vacation. It was written to believers living under pressure. And still, Paul says rejoice.

Why?

Because praise is not denial. It’s alignment. It’s being obedient to honor God because of who He is.

God calls us to praise Him in the storm because praise declares trust before the outcome changes. It tells Heaven, and it tells our own souls, that we refuse to bow to fear. It says, “Father, I don’t see it yet, but I trust You.” And trust is the language of faith.

Hebrews 11:6 (NLT) reminds us, “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” The enemy’s strategy has always been to shake our confidence in who God is. If he can get us to doubt God’s character, he can weaken our praise. But when a woman knows the One True Living God, her worship stabilizes her.

God is Alpha and Omega. He is the beginning and the end. He does not fail, and when that truth settles in your heart, circumstances lose their authority over your praise. You may still feel the weight of disappointment. You may still wrestle with questions. But your spirit, made brand new in Christ, knows something your emotions haven’t caught up to yet. It knows that Jesus has already overcome the world. It knows that the cross settled your position with God. And it knows that you are not fighting for victory — you are standing in the one He already secured.

Jesus said in John 16:33 (NLT), “Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” He didn’t overcome the world halfway. He overcame it fully. So while your emotions may still be catching up, your spirit isn’t panicking. It isn’t wondering if God will come through. It rests in what has already been accomplished. And that’s why praise becomes possible — not because everything feels good, but because Christ already won.

And here’s the truth seasoned believers understand: praise cannot be built on emotion. If it is, it will rise and fall with every text message, every delay, every closed door. Praise is a decision. It is the soul choosing to agree with what the spirit already knows.

Neutral ground doesn’t really exist in the Kingdom. We are either leaning into trust or leaning into fear. And sometimes, trust looks like lifting your hands when your heart feels heavy. Sometimes it looks like whispering “Thank You” when you’re still waiting.

Praise doesn’t pressure God or make Him move faster. It changes us. It brings our soul back into what’s true. And when that happens, clarity starts to return, strength shows back up, and peace covers the parts of us that felt unsteady.

For the woman who has prayed, grown, healed, and still waits — praise is not pretending you don’t long for more. It’s the quiet declaration that your life is not stalled or sitting in a holding pattern. It’s choosing to honor God now — in the becoming, in the stretching, in the middle — not just when the promise shows up at your door.

Breakthrough doesn’t begin when the situation finally changes. It begins the moment we remember who we belong to, and that His timing is never behind.

And sometimes — right in the middle of that remembrance — the gate begins to open when we bless Him with trembling hands, not because everything is fixed, but because we remember who He is. ■
