Deuteronomy 4:29 (NLT)
But from there you will search again for the LORD your God. And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him.
Just as the Word of God declares, I believe very strongly that if you want or desire something that lines up with God’s purpose for your life, there’s nothing on earth that can keep it from you. We teach about this often because it is much needed encouragement during wait-mode. This is evident from the number of you who write to us with your prayer requests. You’re praying to receive divine directions and guidance that will position you on the path to meet a loving man that is compatible with your brand of special.
In Jeremiah 29:11(NLT), God says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” God wants us all to be as blissfully happy as we can be. His glory is evident in our happiness, and He doesn’t take any pleasure from us being sad. So, we have to ask ourselves, if God is for me totally and completely, why hasn’t He blessed me with a husband yet? What stands between me and the partner that He has ordained as my spouse?
You can be assured that there is a man in this earth, probably born around the same time as you, give or take a few years, that is perfectly suited to be your husband. As a matter of fact, there are probably a bevy of men that fit this bill. You have to know this. As sure as you were born, with all the splendor and fabulousness that make you YOU, there is a man that is equally endowed with magnificence, and he is walking in this earth.
We serve a magnanimous and ridiculously intelligent God. He doesn’t skip a beat. So, if He ordained that your name would be written in His Book of Life, certainly He would not leave your husband out of the equation. His intention is that the two of you will become one, and operate as a unit in the earth, much the way He operates with the Son and Holy Spirit.
God sanctioned marriage, and it is His institution. He’s faithful to it, because it is so crucial to continuing the legacy of believing families that will honor His Word. We need only look at how vehemently satan is attacking families and marriages to understand how essential they are to the Plan and Will of God. The enemy wants the institution of marriage destroyed, because he realizes the treasures that will be unlocked once a man and woman realize their destiny within one another.
You may have been married before, and it didn’t work out. You may have had other relationships that didn’t make it as well. Hopefully, you learned from them and are the better for it. The main thing is that you understand you have a destiny and purpose that God has specifically called you to, and your future spouse is integral to your progression forward and your elevation higher in Christ.
Going forward and higher in Christ is the fuel that starts and keeps the engine of matrimony running. So, the definitive factor in your preparedness to partner is that YOUR level of growth in Christ will ultimately yield your allegiance and execution of purpose in the present and in your future. This must exist before the connection between you and your future husband can be made. If you’re not there yet, if you are still at a point in your spiritual walk where you’ll miss the mark that God wants you to knock out of the park, then you are required to seek Him. You must allow Him to transform your heart so that you are poised and prepared according to His plan.
Deuteronomy 4:29 (NLT) tells us, “search again for the LORD…” Wherever you are in life, even if you’ve endured struggle and heartbreak trying to find the person that is truly the one, don’t sink. Don’t become so discouraged that you forfeit your destiny. Search again for the Lord! Throw your agenda to the wind, and search for the purposes of God with all your heart, soul, and mind. You will find the Lord in a way that you’ve never experienced before, and just like He positioned Ruth in Boaz’s field, He will position YOU on the path to the man specifically destined for your life.■
