God’s Plan for Your Life Is Perfect

We have got to start believing that if we follow God’s Word, life will be infinitely sweeter. As history records and time progresses, we see people turning their backs on God in huge numbers. As believers and followers of Christ and children of the One True Living God, we should pause and think about this. There is no one in all the universe and all of time that compares to our Heavenly Father. He is all-powerful and all-knowing, Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. And His goodness and righteousness are unlimited and endure forever. 2Corinthians 1:20(NLT) declares, “For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.” We have been assured of God’s highest rewards through submission to His Word, so why are we still allowing the devil to steal our blessings?

There are some believers that have a very twisted sense of God’s grace, using it as license to continue behaviors and patterns that injure their relationship with Him and sabotage their blessings. Then, they come to God wanting to know why He is withholding those blessings, when that is not at all who God is. Psalm 84:11(NLT) tells us, “For the LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.” God doesn’t withhold blessings but has told us very clearly in His Word how to step into them. From the beginning of creation, He perfectly designed His laws to teach us about His nature and to help us become the very image of His Son, Jesus Christ. Romans 7:12(NLT) proclaims, “But still, the law itself is holy, and its commands are holy and right and good.”

God doesn’t ever need to do a backtrack or a do-over. There has never been nor will there ever be a time that He has to re-orchestrate the things He has put in motion. When we get in hot water and our backs are against the wall, we tend to look at our circumstances and think that God is in heaven altering His original plans to cover our mistakes and get us out of trouble. This would not be a mark of perfection, and He does not operate outside of perfection. Romans 8:28(NLT) declares, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” This was true thousands of years ago, and it is true today. And like all God’s truths, the reason this truth is timeless is because of the way our God plans things out.

His plans are impeccable because His plans are the perfect union of His Word, His purposes, and His creation all working together. His plans are fail proof, and they have always been fail-proof. He tells us in Isaiah 55:9(NLT), For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” The distance between God’s thoughts and our thoughts is immeasurable. God’s laws are His Will, and His Will is His Word. These are not separate, but all the same in Christ. Even before Heavenly Father founded the world, the Word was with Him, for John 1:1(KJV) teaches, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” His plans, the coming together of everything in Christ, were with Him, in His heart and mind, from the very beginning. So even as God’s thoughts were formulated within Him, they were perfect and holy.

Nothing that you do, or that any person does, alters God’s plans. He recorded your design before the earth began. Nothing we do can keep His Will from moving forward. His plan for us is perfect, like everything else He does. We can step into His Will and plan or step outside it, but His Will will keep its trajectory of perfection. The magnificence, beauty, goodness, and glory of our God is that He allows us a seat at His table. He allows us to step into the lavishness of His brilliance, majesty and glory through Jesus Christ. We were partakers of sin and darkness by choice. Adam got the sin party started, and every human after him joined in. Heavenly Father rescued us through Jesus Christ, and because of this we are saved and a part of God’s family. He does not step down to lower Himself to our refusal to walk in the light. No. Through His grace, He invites us to step up to Him in Christ.

He has made it possible through His beloved Son, for us to come to His continual feast. 2Peter 1:4(NLT) tells us, And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.” Come on, lets grasp the heft of glory and excellence our God freely laid out for us. Why would anyone pick a low hanging fruit of deception from the father of lies when God has extended our reach through Jesus Christ. We can aim high because we’ve been lifted high through His Son.

There is nothing lower in all of creation than satan and the sin he has fathered. Sin does not speak the truth about our identity in Christ. Our bodies are just clay pots, they are vessels. If you know anything about the basics of a pot, you know that what the pot holds gives the pot its value. The value we hold in our earthen vessels is the Spirit of Christ who makes it possible for us to be children of God. Our connection to Him through Christ gives us value. We have sonship! We have been freed from darkness and can now cry out to God and call Him, ‘FATHER!’ There is nothing in all of time that is better than this.

Bad behavior is a restriction, fowl words are a noose, and doubt is a failure to trust in God’s thoughts and beliefs about us. Indulging any of these will keep us strapped down in baggage. It will prevent us from running with endurance the race God has set before us. If we allow it, this baggage and heavy weight of sin will keep us chasing darkness instead of light.

Don’t give satan the opportunities he seeks to shackle your momentum and keep you moving at a snail’s pace to all that the Father desires to give you. Faith demands we cast this stuff off and take our rightful place in the victory of Christ. God is faithful. He’s given us a high calling and brought us into fellowship with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We are no longer slaves to sin, God has made us champions of His love and light, and darkness cannot steal this from us unless we let it.■
